Saturday August 22nd Bet 3 of 4

We are placing a couple of batches of £1.15 ew combination Lucky 15s so spend on the day £345 – we have 86 memberships in this syndicate. We have two selections in the Ebor Handicap at 3.35, but the other four picks are in both batches of bets.

Selections and approximate odds:

York 1.50: GERYON 3-1 drifted to 9-2 and went too fast too soon before finishing out of the places in 5th as Archivist at 9-1 won from Saber Strike at 8-1 with Persia at 11-2 in third.

York 2.25: SHARKEYBOY 8-1 despite being well backed our lad never really got going and finished out of the frame in about 7th. Infraad 10-3jf won well from Galilean Quality at 12-1 with Who’s Lope at 28-1 in third and fellow 28-1 shot Tierra Del Toro in 4th just ahead of 10-3jf Limestone in 5th.

York 3.35: BEYLERBEYI 16-1/ASCENDING 22-1 both drifted and finished in the places 4th and 5th at 28-1 and 20-1 with Daquiri Bay at 10-1 winning from Hopewell Rock at 13-2 with Opportunity at 14-1 in third ahead of Ascending and Beylerbeyi.

York 4.10: DANCE IN THE STORM 2-1 managed a 4th place at 85-40 as Sondad at 17-2 beat Far Above Dream at 16-1 with Coul Angel at 16-1 in third with Evening Saigon at 15-2 just behind our lad in 5th.

York 5.20: CASTLE STUART 12-1 drifted to 16-1 and placed 5th, so not a total disaster. Raammee 13-8fav beat Thunder Run at 14-1 with Bourbon Blues in third at 16-1 and Shafdar at 20-1 in 4th. With three places in both batches of bets we should be looking at profit on the day.

Saturday August 15th Bet 2 of 4

We are placing two batches of £1.15 ew Lucky 15s with two selections in the first race Newbury 1.55 the other four selections are in each set of bets, so overall spend on the day £345.

Newbury 1.55: HUCKLESBROOK 12/1 : RHYTHM N HOOVES 4/1 A decent start with a winner at 4/1 backed into 7-2fav and Hucklesbrook 3rd at 12-1, just behind Hypnotized at 15/2.

Perth 2.50: SUMMERGROUNDS 13/2 was backed into 5-1 and finished third behind winning fav Follow Charlie at 7-2.

Ripon 2.55: GRANT WOOD 6/1 drifted to 13-2 and a head 6th, so just out of the places as Woodstock at 11-2 beat Mark’s Choice at 16-1.

Ripon 3.25: KODIAC THRILLER 11/1 drifted to 16-1 and a disappointing 9th as Royal Zabeel at 17-2 won under Jason Watson.

Newbury 3.42: SAN JOSE 8/1 not the run we wanted with Tom Marquand booked and 4th place when paying three places – Gambling Man at 5-1 won. Belated update returns are £130.45, so must do better next two weekends.

We are placing a batch of £2.30 ew combination Lucky 15s so spend on the day £345 – we have 86 memberships in this syndicate.

Ascot 1.35: BOLO NEIGHS 9-2 blew the start and did well to run on into 5th. Meanwhile, where it mattered Tuco Salamanca at 4-1 beat Gold Star Hero at 20-1 with Fandom at 5-1 in third.

Ascot 2.10: HERMETIC 5-1 drifted to 8-1 and had every chance, but swallowed up in the last 250 yards. Stablemate Dancing In Paris at 17-2 won cosily from Shrimp Shady 11-10fav with Mountain Road at 10-1 just nutting our lad on the line for third by a head.

Newmarket 2.30: SANBONA WARRIOR 2-1 drifted to 11-4 and finished 4th, so a major disappointment as Eabha at 15-2 beat Mysterious Times 6-5fav leaving out lad out of the frame.

Haydock 3pm: RUMBA NUMBA 22-1 was a massively unlucky 4th. Calendar Girl 13-2 beat Pacific Mission at 12-1 with Fallen Angel 11-8fav just ahead of our girl.

Ascot 4.30: EBT’S GUARD 5-1 drifted to 17-2 and another 4th on the day – not a great start to this Series, so things can only get better. Crown Board at 10-1 beat 7-2jfs Bullet Point and Ozat.
