April Series 2026
Saturday April 25th Bet 5 of 5
We have placed two sets of £1.15 Ew combination Lucky 15s, each batch costing £172.50, so overall spend on the day £345.
We have two selections in the 1.45 at Sandown and the other four are the same in both batches of bets. We play with MBW Lotto 55 tonight on this £10.9 Million Must Be Won draw.
Selections and approximate odds:
Sandown 1.45: MINELLA YOGA 3-1/ RACE TO BASE 25-1 neither able to beat Cosmic Connection at 6-1 with Race To Base at 33-1 in second and Minella Yoga backed into 9-4fav just pipped for 4th and ended up 5th, but the non runners will most likely have killed our place payout. In third was Bespoke Tailor at 10-1 with Kocktail Bleu at 7-1 just piping our lad for 4th.
Leicester 2.05: ZOULU CHIEF 13-2 backed into 6-1 and faded out of it as Strike Red at 12-1 beat Prince Of India at 10-3fav with Kylian at 14-1 in third.
Sandown 3.30: IN D’OR 6-1 backed into 9-2, but a mistake at the last cost us dear as ended up 4th and that’s out of the places due to non runners. Havaila at 5-1 won from Our Power 14-1 with Road To Home 7-2fav in third.
Sandown 5.15: FASOL 9-1 into 11-2 and tried to make all, but No Ordinary Joe at 14-1 won well from Gnomon at 7-2fav with our lad back in third.
Limerick 5.35: CHURCH MOUNTAIN 12-1 backed into 10-1, but no prizes for 11th as Patrick Street won at 10-1.
Saturday April 18th Bet 4 of 5
We have placed three batches of 75p EW combination Lucky 15s with three picks in the 3.35 at Ayr – we’d obviously love club member Roy and the boys to win it – the other four selections are the same in each batch of bets. Overall spend on the day £337.50.
Selections and approximate odds:
Ayr 1.45: BIG JOHN WAYNE 6-1 went off 10-3fav and ran a gallant second finding just Pounding Poet at 18-1 too good with I Wish You at 5-1 in third. Due to a non runner we will be hit with a hefty Rule 4.
Ayr 3.35: HERAKLES WESTWOOD 18-1/ FAMOUS BRIDGE 22-1/ GIT MAKER 10-1 first two pulled up and a mistake by Git Maker knocked him right back, so he did well to finish second as Kap Vert at 20-1 with Kin Roque at 4-1fav just nosed by our lad with Isaac Des Obeaux at 17-2 in 4th and Chasingtheblues at 11-2 in 5th.
Ayr 4.15: WEST HILL VERDE 10-3 drifted to 5-1 and found Apache Tribe at 5-6fav too good with Stride On at 15-2 just pipping us for second, but we’ll take the third place.
Nottingham 4.37: BINTARYANA 4-1 backed into 7-2 second fav and won well from Frantic at 7-1 with Egotistical at 4-1 in third.
Newbury 4.55: BULLETIN 10-1 backed into 7-1 met trouble in running and came widest of all to be beaten into third by a neck and a head as Rathgar at 12-1 and Valedictory at 5-6fav. So with a winner and four places in one batch of bets and a winner and three places in the other batches – it’s a profitable day. We know we will have a 20p Rule 4 to impact returns, but it’s not a disaster. We will take the profit. Returns were £804.63 – as well as the Rule 4 the bookie says Big John Wayne was 5-1 not 6-1 when slips went through – don’t you hate em!
Saturday April 11th Bet 3 of 5
We have placed some combination ew Lucky 15s with four picks in the Grand National to round off the day – the other four selections are in each batch of the bets. Spend on the day likely to be £345. We have four sets of 58p ew combination Lucky 15s.
Selections and approximate odds below:
Aintree 1.20: HOLD THE SERVE 10-3 looked to be crusing, but then found nothing and finished 5th behind stablemate Wade Out at 18-1 with Eagle Fang at 28-1 in second and Chart Topper at 25-1 in third with Supremely West at 7-1 in 4th ahead of our lad paying five places the 10-3fav.
Aintree 1.55: MONTMARES 6-1 was in a photo for 4th and finished 5th. Bossman Jack at 11-4jf with Soldier Reeves 15-2 in second and Ballyfad at 11-4jf and Lord Byron at 28-1 doing our lad on the line for 4th place.
Aintree 2.30: LOOKAWAY 9-2 backed into 7-2fav and lost out by a nose on the line as Mr Hope Street at 4-1 just held on with Konfusion at 20-1 back in third.
Aintree 3.05: JINGKO BLUE 9-2 backed into 7-2 but was only 6th. Home By The Lee at 5-1 won easily from Take No Chances at 18-1 with 5-2fav Honesty Policy in third and Air Of Entitlement at 6-1 in 4th.
Aintree 4pm: PERCEVAL LEGALLOIS 25-1; I AM MAXIMUS 8-1; GERRI COLOMBE 28-1; FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU 40-1 we managed the first backed in from 8-1 to 9-2fav and Favori De Champdou was placed 6th at 40-1. Iroko was second at 18–1 with Jordans at 28-1 in third and Johnnywho at 12-1 in 4th with High Class Hero at 66-1 in 5th. Our other two picks failed to complete. With the winner at 8-1 and two places and two places we won’t get a great return. Unfortunately in the shop they were only paying five places, so the 40-1 doesn’t count towards returns. Returns were £115.57.
Friday April 10th Bet 2 of 5
We have placed a £5.08 ew Lucky 31 so outlay of £315. We have 100 memberships in this syndicate.

Aintree 2.20: WENDIGO 7-1 was no match for comfortable winner Gold Dancer 10-3jf with Regents Stroll 5-1 second and Salver 10-3jf in third.
Aintree 4.05: VIROFLAY 10-1 made a couple of mistakes and all chance went when King Of Prs fell three out. Will The Wise at 9-1 beat Ile Atlantique at 11-2 with Madara 7-2fav in third and Gentleman De Mee at 17-2 with Indiana Jones at 100-1 in 5th just ahead of Mahon’s Glory.
Aintree 4.40 DALSTON LAD 6-1 faded into 6th as Zeus Power won well at 3-1.
Aintree 5.15: WANDERING EGO 11-1 no prizes for about 10th as Laafi won the race at 20-1.
Wexford 6.38: CAESARS ROCK 9-1 backed into 6-1, but found Supreme Jet at 4-1 just too good after his jockey stole an easy lead on the far side and was just enough to hold on well from the home turn. Just one place on the day, so disappointing. Returns on the day £14.22.
Thursday April 9th Bet 1 of 5

Aintree 4.40: RYAN’S ROCKET 12-1 won at 14-1 from Highland Legacy at 11-2 and Sans Bruit the 11-4fav was back in third.
Gowran 5.05: ROCK ETOILE 12-1 finished a very disappointing 14th.
Southwell 5.25: MOHMENTOUS 17-2 drifted to 11-1 and could only manage 7th. Returns were £286.67.
