Saturday 23rd August Bet 5 of 5

We have placed 2 sets of 90p EW combination lucky 15s, each costing £135 so overall spend on them £270. We have two selections in the 3.35 at York, but the other four picks are the same in both batches of bets. We had also placed 2 x £1.25 ew five timers so an extra £5 with overall spend on the day £275.

Selections and approximate odds below;

Curragh 1.42: TRUSTMORE 10-1 backed into 8-1 and suffered interference, ran on late for 6th or 7th behind cosy winner Thread Of Gold at 11-1.

Goodwood 2.05: MUDBIR 5-2 drifted to 11-4 and not one of Jim’s greatest rides from a tricky draw – Darkness at 25-1 won well.

York 2.25: TALISMANS TIME 10-1 drifted to 12-1 and sadly went wrong tailing off into last halfway up the straight. Up front Tarriance at 5-1 just got up on the line to beat Many Men with Daiquiri Bay back in third.

York 3.35: SIEGE OF TROY 17-2/ENEMY 33-1 both had every chance, but Ethical Diamond at 5-1 won well with Ascending back in second and Queenstown third.

York 4.10: POCKLINGTON 7-2 drifted to 4-1 and finished third winning the race on the low side. Northern Ticker at 12-1 beat Comanche Falls at 16-1 into second with Pocklington in third and Two Tribes at 4-1jf in 4th and Jordan Electrics at 20-1 in 5th. With just one placed that’s £12.96 on the day taking returns on the Series up to £562.12, so a disappointing £6.61 per membership, which will be paid out at some point over the Bank Holiday.

York 1.50; ASGARDS CAPTAIN 12:1 drifted to 16-1 and won from Insanity at 10-1 with French Duke at 11-2 back in third.

York 3.35: SPICY MARG 16:1 / FROST AT DAWN 11:1 Spicy Marg was backed, but was squeezed out and Frost At Dawn was backed into 10-1 and was a gallant third. Asfoora at 11-1 beat Ain’t Nobody at 100-1 with Frost At Dawn in third and Night Raider at 7-1 in 4th.

York 4:10; AKECHUTA 6:1 drifted to 13-2 and managed a gallant dead heat second to Cape Flora at 13-2 with Blessed Star at 14-1 alongside our lad in second.

York 4.45; BOND 9:1 no prizes for being nearer the back than front. Frescobaldi at 10-3 won with Spyce at 28-1 in second and Naval Light 3-1jf in third.

York 5.20; SUPIDO 40:1 after a flying start with Asgards Captain it was a disappointing end to the day with Mr Williams runner out out of the frame behind winner Fifth Column 11-4fav. Returns on the day £459.88.

Wednesday August 20th Bet 3 of 5

We are placing some £1.80 ew combination Lucky 15s, so overall spend on the day £270. We have two similar bets to place in the Ebor Series, but are taking tomorrow off as we are going racing. We will post what we are backing ahead of racing, but the final two club bets of the Series will be Friday and Saturday when we are not on the Knavesmire. We are also placing a £2.50 ew acca today, so a further fiver – total spend on the day £275.

Apologies we had a website crash – so have adapted the club bet slipping Tootsie at 9-4 in the 4.55 at Carlisle instead of our earlier selection at York.

York 4.10: ALIGN THE STARS 9-1 had every chance and not good enough. Santorini Star at 10-3fav won well with our lad’s stablemate Artisan Dancer at 28-1 back in second and Almuhit at 22-1 in third.

York 4.45: FORAGER 11-1 drifted to 14-1 and had every chance before fading right out of it. Star Of Mehmas af 11-1 won well from Eternal Sunshine at 18-1 with Luna A Inbhir Nis at 11-2 with Saratoga Special at 18-1 in 4th.

Carlisle 4.55: TOOTSIE 9-4 drifted to 9-2 and finished well out of the frame after going off too fast. Believe In Lies at 15-2 won well from Bella Love at 7-2 with No Nay Nevermind at 9-1 in third.

York 5.20: TEMPLE OF ATHENA 6-1 drifted to 13-2 and led, but swallowed up and finished about 10th. We have had better days in the Knavesmire.

Sligo 7.08: MOULANE WEST 9-1 drifted to 10-1 and a neck 4th when paying three places – not a good start to the Ebor meeting. Things can only get better.

Saturday August 16th Bet 2 of 5

We have placed some £1.80 ew combination Lucky 15s, so overall spend on the day £270. We presently have 85 memberships in this syndicate and it’s closed.

Selections and approximate odds:

Newmarket 2.05: SENSORIUM 16-1 drifted to 25-1 and sadly 4th when paying three places while Addison Grey 5-2fav won.

Curragh 2.17: BELIEVE IN GLORY 10-1 another out of the frame as Sir Alfie at 5-1jf won.

Newbury 2.25: FAUSTUS 16-1 hit the front a furlong out, but no repeat of last year’s win as finished 5th. While Rythm and Hooves at 9-2jf won from Getreadytorumble at 9-2jf with Roach Power at 8-1 back in third.

Newbury 3pm: JUMBY 6-1 about 5

Ripon 3.20: FIRST FOLIO 9-1 backed into 15-2 and finished 3rd so one place on the day – not good. Roll on York and the final three bets of the series.

We have placed some £1.80 ew combination Lucky 15s, so overall spend on the day £270. We presently have 81 memberships in this syndicate, but are anticipating a few stragglers as ever.

Ascot 2.45: NIGHT BREEZE 7-2 backed into 11-4fav and won well from La Pulga at 12-1 with last year’s winner Insanity at 5-1 back in third.

Newmarket 3.07: RIGHTHERE RIGHTNOW 15-2 drifted to 11-1 and finished aged 5th. Royal Zabeel at 12-1 won well from Sterling Knight at 13-2 with Jumby at 7-1 in third.

Ascot 3.20: MARCHOGION 6-1 drifted to 9-1 and trailed in last. Prince Of India at 10-3fav won from Milford at 9-2 with Flash Harry at 7-1 in third.

Haydock 4.10: LIAMARTY DREAMS 12-1 drifted to 14-1 and faded right out of it into last. Excellent Believe at 5-1 won from Kodi Lion 9-4fav with Gorak at 4-1 back in third.

Ayr 6.42: SURE AND STEDFAST 5-1 backed into 7-2fav and.could only manage 5th.
