We have placed a batch of £2 ew combination Lucky 15s, so cost of those £300 plus a £2.50 ew five timer – overall spend on the day £305.
Selections and approximate odds below:
Newcastle 1.40: WITCH HUNTER 11-1 no prizes for 11th. Well handicapped, but never put in the race. Roman Service at 22-1 won well from Bobby Bennu at 3-1fav with Nikovo at 9-1 in third.
York 1.55: TAILGUNNER JOE 20-1 drifted to 25-1, but not good enough. Cadarn at 25-1 won from Andesite 5-1 with Frankies Dream at 5-2fav in third and Zennor Storm at 12-1 in 4th.
Newcastle 2.10 DILIGENT HARRY 5-2 went off 11-4fav, but faded in the heat into about 8th unable to follow up on last year’s win on this race. Paborus at 15-2 won well from Marvelman at 17-2 with Symbol Of Honour at 9-2 in third.

Newcastle 3.45: TUCO SALAMANCA 9-2 drifted to 13-2 and won from Strike Red at 22-1 and Annaf at 14-1, so a good end to our day. Returns with one winner are £130.40.
Saturday June 20th Bet three of five
We are placing two batches of £1 ew combination Lucky 15s each costing £150, so a total of £390 with a couple of £1.25 each way accas on top – we have done a couple of bonus £10 each way accas on the five with the Royal Ascot Series as well. Overall spend today this syndicate is £305.
Selections and approximate odds:
Royal Ascot 2.30: EZ TINA 12-1/THROUGH THE YEARS 20-1 both broke well and had the lead alternately during the first four furlongs, but all the American raiders ran out of puff. Well backed Orthodox at 9-2 won from El Floridita 150-1 and Mussab 66-1 with Social Symbol at 33-1 in 4th. With both out of the frame the bonus bets are down on the other syndicate.
Royal Ascot 3.05: GOLIATH 9-2 was very unlucky as galloping all over them at 7-2 before the jockey lost his irons as just about to swoop to victory. Christophe Soumillon lost his right stirrup at crucial moment.Giavellotto won at 9-1 with Kalpana at 9-4fav in second ahead of our lad.
Royal Ascot 4.20: COLORI FOREVER 17-2 drifted to 10-1 and went on the high side – with draw bias switching it wasn’t the place to be. Thesecretadversary at 20-1 beat Take Charge Star at 50-1with Morris Dancer at 25-1 in third with Green Sense at 80-1 in 4th.
Royal Ascot 5pm: TEN POUNDS 11-1 backed into 13-2, but not quite good enough. Double Rush at 5-1 won from Completely Random 12-1 with Soldier’s Tree at 11-1 in third with Far Above Dream at 28-1 in 4th and Mitbaahy 50-1 in 5th.
Royal Ascot 5.35: PRINCLING 13-2 drifted to 10-1 and was 5th behind Lost Boys 2-1fav, with Amadeus Mozart at 14-1 in second and Perisher at 5-1 in third with Nil Bua Gan Dua 22-1 in 4th. With just two places we reckon on first check that the returns are £73.40.
Saturday June 13th Bet two of five
We have placed some £2 ew combination Lucky 15s and a £2.50 ew accumulator, so overall spend on the day £305.
Selections and approximate odds:
York 1.50 Chillingham 8-1; Not good enough as Dunkeld Dreamer at 6-1 beat the 7-2jfs Humble Spark and Secret Force.
York 2.25 Lir Special 13-2; It was backed into 11-2 and finished 4th behind easy winner Extremely Zain 2-1fav with Son second and Andesite third ahead of our Lir with Akadian Thunder back in 5th.
York 3.35 First Legion 9-1 drifted out and managed 5th behind Thunder Call and Red Spells Danger with Fortification at 14-1 in third and Chicago Hope in 4th ahead of our lad.
Sandown 3.55: Utmost Good Faith 18-1 drifted to 25-1 and out of the frame in 5th.
York 5.25 Archduke Ferdinand 14-1; nearer last than first. Returns on the day were a dismal £78.60 – things can only get better.
Saturday June 6th Derby Day – bet one of five.
We will be placing two batches of combination Lucky 15s with two selection in the 5.20 race – the other four picks will be the same in both sets of bets. First race for us today will be the 2.05 at Epsom and all selections will be on the Downs. Each batch will be £1 ew so costing £150 and overall spend on the day £300.
Selections and approximate odds below:
Epsom 2.05: SHE’S PERFECT 9-2 sadly not good enough after sweating up at the start. Though Laura Pearson gave them all a lesson on the winner Sparks Fly 7-2 sticking on the inside rail to thrash Love Dynasty at 10-1.
Epsom 3.15: DYONISOS 12-1 drifted to 16-1 and had ideal draw in 15, but faded in the final furlong. Arklow Lad at 7-1 beat Vintage Clarets at 11-1 with 17-2 shots Lexington Blitz and Stormy Impact in third and 4th.
Epsom 4pm: MALTESE CROSS 17-2 drifted to 12-1 and found just Christmas Day at 7-1 too good with James R Braddock at 7-1 in third and Bay Of Brilliance at 9-1 in 4th. Massive congratulations to SuperClub member George a stupendous second in the Derby stunning – shame we had Christmas Day in June. But let’s look forward to the St Leger! Favourite declared a non runner so that’s a 25p Rule 4.
Epsom: 5.20: GIVE IT TO ME OJ 5-1/BULLETIN 13-2 Bulletin drifted to 15-2 and managed third behind Too Soon at 17-2 with Night Breeze at 15-2 in second with Asgards Captain at 14-1 in 4th. Our other pick Give It To Me OJ was backed into 10-3, but could only finish 6th.
Epsom 5.55: PUREST TIME 22-1 was taken out due to unsuitable ground. Last year’s winner Sondad at 11-2 went in again from Invictus Gold at 28-1 with Partisan Hero at 11-1 in third and Strike Red at 17-2 was 4th.
With a 25p Rule 4 in the Derby we think returns on the day will be £107.70, so not a complete disaster. It looks like the Rule 4 was waived as returns when collected were £123.60.
