We have placed two batches of £1.30 ew combination Lucky 15s with two picks in the Doncaster 2.20, but the other four are the same in both batches of bets. Spend on those £390 we also aim to place two sets of 75p ew five-timers cost £3, so overall spend on the day £393. We have 97 memberships in this syndicate.

Leopardstown 2.10: VAFORTINO 5-1 drifted to 7-1 and just a head second.

Doncaster 2.20: ROSARIO 9-1/ APOLLO ONE 7-1 neither ran into the places.

Bath 2.30: MULVANEY’S RETURN 22-1 another disappointment.

Bath 3.08: DOWMAN 9-2 drifted to 6-1 and another second on the day.

Doncaster 4.15: EBT’S GUARD 14-1 drifted to 22-1 and a decent third, so three places on the day. As Dug The Tyre touched down in Dublin he discovered his flight had been held up by The Donald – with Air Force One on the runway – Dug couldn’t resist a dabble on his rubber world chum Charlie Bond’s horse of the same name! He’s on Bouncing Monarch tonight at Shelbourne at 12-1 – not sure if Dug told The Donald about the dog, but it’s looking like a top trip to Dublin. Let’s get Dr Rascal in the winner’s enclosure tomorrow at the Curragh – some suggestion that The Donald will be leaving Dug for a trip to Doonbeg. On first check returns are £487.20.

Navan 2.35: STEP BACK IN TIME 14-1 no prizes for 15th as Irish Rumour at 11-2 beat The Love Machine at 9-4fav with Steel Magnolia at 5-1 in third and Shimmering Seas at 6-1 in 4th.

Haydock 3.05: POLE STAR 12-1 drifted to 14-1 and made heavy weather of things, but stayed on well for third while Aegean Prince at 7-4fav won well from In The Breeze at 12-1 ahead of our lad in second.

Haydock 3.40: MARVELMAN 4-1 drifted to 5-1 and took a bump and faded into last. Almeraq 9-4fav won easy from Paborus at 5-1 with Big Mojo at 9-1 in third.

Haydock 4.15: TRILBY 9-4 backed into 2-1fav and found just Poatan at 9-2 too good with Elara May 14-1 back in third.

Ascot 4.35: SAINT LAWRENCE 11-1 drifted to 14-1 and finished last, so not our day at all. Havana Blue at 11-2 won with Nifty Fifty at 12-1 in second and Northcliff at 11-1 in third and Garfield Shadow 4th.On first check it looks like returns are £93.83.
