September Series Picks
Saturday September 27th Bet 5 of 5
We have placed a batch of £1.35 EW Lucky 15s, so overall spend on the day £202.50.
Selections and approximate odds below:
Curragh 2pm: BRIGID’S CLOAK 12-1 backed into 10-1, but not good enough and finished 6th when we had four places. We had this horse on earlier Curragh form with Gazelle Dor, but that managed to uphold the form despite the weight swing and win well at 9-1 from Kendall Roy at 10-1 with Airspeed at 25-1 in third.
Haydock 2.40: TRILBY 13-2 backed into 11-2 and ran a solid race in third behind easy winner Realign at 15-8fav with Wild Clary at 8-1 in second just ahead of our lad.
Curragh 3.10: ENGINES ON 9-2 lovely drift to 13-2 and won cosily from Tokenomics at 5-1 with Tina’s Indian at 8-1 back in third.
Curragh 3.45: TAKE CHARGE STAR 7-2 drifted to 8-1 and no prizes for 6th as Dorset at 17-2 won well with stablemate and 5-6favourite Composing back in third with August George at 28–1 between the pair and New Monarch at 33-1 in 4th.
Market Rasen 5.45: SALIGO BAY 9-1 beats Sir Galahad at 11-2 with Rock On Pedro at 14-1. Two nice winners and a third in the day, should be profit to add to the earlier profit will update tomorrow when collected. On initial check it appears the returns are in the region of £572.71, but will confirm tomorrow. Now collected and £564.71 picked up. This takes returns on the Series over £2.5k maths to be done later and payout this week ahead of our Arc Series starting next weekend.
Saturday September 20th Bet 4 of 5
We have placed a batch of £1.35 EW Lucky 15s, so overall spend on the day £202.50.
In the last at Wolverhampton our Spirited Racing pals have Fancy Dancer running and she has every chance if she gets the breaks from her high draw, all our fingers and toes will be crossed for her!
Selections and approximate odds below:
Newbury 2.05: STRESSFREE 7-1 drifted to 9-1 and just a head out of the places in 5th as Lieber Power at 14-1 won from Majestic Warrior at 6-1 and Beylerbeyi at 7-1 with 9-4fav Castle Cove just a head in infront of our lad in 4th. Our lad suffered interference about a furlong out and without that would certainly have placed if not better – just might be a massive moment come our last runner at Newmarket.
Ayr 2.25: CANDY 15-2 drifted to 8-1 and won well from Sondad at 14-1 with Eye Of Dubai at 16-1 with Aberama Gold at 10-1 back in 4th.
Ayr 3pm: ISLE OF FERNANDEZ 14-1 drifted to 25-1 and tried to make all and just faded into third in the final furlong as Catching The Moon at 15-2 won from Lam Yai at 9-2 with Figjam at 200-1 running on late behind our girl in 4th.
Ayr 3.35: RUN BOY RUN 12-1 gives us the Silver Cup and Gold Cup double – well done to trainer Richard Spencer. A pair of 8-1 shots chased our lad home with Jubilee Walk flying at the finish to almost head off second Desert Falcon with 5-1fav Purosangue in 4th and Hanner The Hammer at 20-1 in 5th. We have collected the first Lucky 15 with a loser on and that pays £335.99, so profit on the day.
Newmarket 5.05: I STILL HAVE FAITH 10-3 drifted to 7-2 and had horrendous trouble in running, being boxed in by the grey up the straight and out of the Dip – decided to go on the inside as shadows of the post presented, but sadly found Triple Force 11-2 just half a length too good with Warning Sign at 15-2 back in third with grey filly Wondrous Light – the one that caused us all the problems – back in 4th at 5-1. The final four slips yielded £1,093.13, so overall returns on the day £1,429.11. This means the September Series is now in profit with a last bet next weekend. What could have been without that trouble in running for our first and last picks – now let’s all cheer on Fancy Dancer in that 8.30 at Wolverhampton – for club members Pete, Richard and the Spirited squad.

Doncaster 2.25: ROSARIO 10-1/FIVETHOUSANDTOONE 10-1 both drifted, but Rosario managed third and sadly our other pick was 6th when paying five places. Bottom weight Eternal Sunshine at 12-1 won well from Apollo One at 12-1 with Run Boy Run at 13-2 behind our lad in 4th with Jakajaro at 14-1 in 5th ahead of our other pick Fivethousandtoone at 28-1.
Curragh 2.50: TRIBAL NATION 5-1 drifted to 6-1 and placed third behind Rahmi at 14-1 with Glenfinnan at 17-2 in second ahead of our lad with Gleneagle Bay at 7-4fav in 4th.
Chester 5.05: GREEN TEAM 16-1 backed into 9-1, but faded right out of it as Saligo Bay at 15-8fav won well.
Chester 5.35: ROGUE SEA 7-2 drifted to 9-1 and was dismal. With three places in one bet and two in the other – it’s likely a small loss on the day. But the big money is this evening with a £15 Million Must Be Won draw – let’s land a lump!

Ascot 2.40: MIRABEAU 20-1 ran a great race in third with Native Warrior 10-3fav and Great Acclaim at 11-1 aged of our lad with Thunder Roar at 33-1 behind in 4th and Bobby Bennu at 18-1 in 5th.
Haydock 3pm: ALIGN THE STARS 12-1 drifted to 16-1, but was a gallant 4th as The Reverend 7-2fav beats Dramatic Star 7-1 with Stressfree at 11-1 in third ahead of our lad who was in turn in front of 7-1 shot Paddy The Squire.
Haydock 3.35: KIND OF BLUE 10-1 drifted to 12-1 and was a gallant second behind Big Mojo at 16-1 with Flora Of Bermuda at 22-1 in third. We have three decent places on the day.
We had a couple of fancies later at Ascot both won the races last year Fresh at around 16-1 in the 4.25 and Woolhampton at 5-1 in the 4.55.
Saturday August 30th Bet 1 of 5

Curragh 4.37: INDEPENDENT EXPERT 16-1 drifted to 18-1 and no prizes for 10th. Jagged Edge at 22-1 beat Genuine Article at 9-1 with Engines On at 18-1 in third and Coeur D’Or at 12-1 in 4th.
Curragh 5.12: GORDON BENNETT 17-2 simply not good enough.
Chester 5.35: PERCY SHELLEY 10-3/ CAVERN CLUB 7-2 both backed, but second and third as It’s All About You at 11-2 wins. Not a great start to the Series with just two places in both batches of bets. Returns £54.28.
